Who We Are

The United States Army CCDC Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), located in Warren, Michigan, at the Detroit Arsenal with our partners TACOM, NGCV-CFT, PEO- GCS and PEO CS&CSS. GVSC is the United States Armed Forces’ research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. It is part of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Futures Command. Current technology focus areas include Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility (GVPM), Ground Vehicle Robotics (GVR), Vehicle Electronics and Architectures (VEA), Ground Systems Cyber Engineering (GSCE), among others.

 Develop, integrate, demonstrate, and sustain ground vehicle systems capabilities to support Army modernization priorities and improve readiness.

What We Do

GVSC is the nation’s laboratory for developing advanced military ground vehicle technologies and systems engineering and integration expertise that delivers unmatched ground vehicle solutions. The solar array at the alternative energy corridor at Tooele Army Depot in Utah is a Fiscal Year 2012 Army Energy Conservation Investment Program project. Pictured here in May 2013, the 430 solar dishes are expected to provide 1.5 megawatts of electricity, approximately 30 percent of the depot's annual electric energy need.
